Previous info and links:
The HS2 hybrid bill has been deposited in Parliament. Those directly affected have received (in our view) rather daunting letters from the government and HS2 Ltd. (just part of this is here). It is important that those affected raise concerns with MPs and get in touch with us for info on meetings and so on. Some scary reading about the powers of this bill here.
Our key advice at this stage is – get involved, respond to the environmental statement consultation, and lodge a petition. Then you can negotiate with HS2 for improvements to the scheme. Your Residents Associations, Councillors, MPs and us are all here to help.
The HS2 Environmental Statement has been released and you have until the 27th Feb (extended from the 24th Jan due to errors made by HS2) to make your comments to improve/change the plans. It appears that HS2 are not bothering to hold a consultation event locally this time.
There are many documents and it is really important that you look at your area and respond accordingly – the construction around Ickenham and Harefield is quite staggering. This picture shows in pink, orange, yellow and brown, the potential construction areas between Harvil Road and Breakspear Road South.
A document to help understand the statement is available here.
